Sympathy Flowers, what do I send?
Flowers make a perfect gift for any occasion. In fact, if appropriately chosen, there is no occasion when flowers are not appropriate.
Flowers are especially comforting when given to family and friends when they lose a loved one. While the scope of this article won’t permit me to discuss the many, many customs which are appropriate when sending sympathy there are a few things to keep in mind.
Flowers are a gift to those remaining and are used to convey what your words may not. You should send from your heart and chose a style which represents your taste or the taste of the recipient if known.
Generally speaking, Standing Sprays and Slumber Room Arrangements are appropriate for a family member, friend or business acquaintance to send to the service. Unless you are very close, a heart or religious emblem should be reserved for family. Vased arrangements should be sent to the home. Plants can be sent to either the home or funeral home.
